Summary: Today was a little quieter than expected, but I ended up just wafting around the house chilling and then finally watching “An Unearthly Child” in honor of the 57th anniversary of the airing of Doctor Who.

#NullaDiesSineLinea: You can read the entry HERE on The Cat’s Cradle.

Editing: None.

Summary: Finished reading Animorphs at 1am and needed to write a late entry about it on the importance of endings matching the tone and theme of the rest of the story.

Summary: Wrote another part of the goblin market scene and some sexy time with Karen and Blanche. Rounded out the evening with Entry #235 for Cat’s Cradle. Spent more of the day watching The X-Files than I’d originally planned, but whatever. Still feel like I need a longer weekend.

#NullaDiesSineLinea: As someone whose wardrobe aesthetic is generally described as “army surplus,” I normally didn’t care what other people thought of my apartment… but with Blanche coming over, I was acutely embarrassed about the bachelorette vibe of the place.

Editing: None.

Summary: Short bit of Asa protesting and being told how her personal quest has bigger consequences and she can’t escape that. Author notes using Gabriela Pereria’s acronym W.O.R.S.T. (What does the character want? Obstacles in their path? Risks they are willing to take? Stakes of failure? How to they transform?) to figure out Asa and Tal. Still having trouble making them three dimensional. At least they are sock puppets now rather than cardboard cliches. Aslo wrote Part 2 of my Cat’s Cradle entry on Passing Judgment.

Editing: None.

Summary: Couldn’t focus on PtS, so I wrote a rough draft for a possible Cat’s Cradle entry on female role models in fiction.

Summary: Wow, earlier today I thought I’d be lucky if I got 500 words done, and here we are! Wrote about Marianna getting a letter for PtS and then got an idea for a new Cat’s Cradle entry on the nature of belief, so I roughed that out (which incidentally also rounded out my word count). Hooray for being more or less back on track! (Technically I need to write another 180 words to meet today’s word count goals, but I’m dredging the bottom of the barrel and need to get away from screens before I can go to bed. So, nighty-night all!)

#NullaDiesSineLinea:

She was tempted to toss the wretched thing into the fire, unopened. But she refrained. Maybe it held some explanation as to why she’d been banished so abruptly. It wasn’t that she desired his forgiveness or approval, oh no. It was simply unnerving not to know the “why” of a thing.

Summary: Some more time on Lowstreet with the introduction of “the copper,” a scene with Marianna meeting Nathaniel again right after his return, part of her reaction to Darius’s proposal, and part of a scene with an unconventional rescue. Plus wrote my Cat’s Cradle entry for the day. Whoo-hoo! Back on track!
