Summary: Some final bits leading up to the final act of the story.

#NullaDiesSineLinea: But the Other-Side-of-the-Veil was sacrosanct, not to mention separated from the human world so that things couldn’t readily spill over. No one had ever been able to draw magic or anything else from beyond the Veil. It was not only almost blasphemous to suggest it could be Drained, but also an impossible feat.

And yet Hagan said it not only could be done, but actually WAS being done as they spoke.

“Hagan,” rumbled Firedrake, “it sounds like you have an idea of who is doing this.”

SPECIAL: Well, that was… a thing. I do not feel that I did particularly well this year, but since it’s an even year, and bloody 2020 I suppose I am not surprised at my lack of focus and enthusiasm. (Purchasing Skyrim in the last week of November didn’t help either.) So now I know that I need to seriously focus on prep ahead of any month-long writing challenge like NaNo, because I do NOT fly well by the seat of my pants.

SPECIAL: And that, my dears, is a wrap. It may not be pretty. It may not be coherent. But for the moment, it is done. If by “done” you mean I have a ton of material just floating around only loosely connected or completely disconnected from on another because I had no over-arching plot in mind. Apparently writing by the seat of my pants is not a very good thing for me, and while I entered the month with great excitement, I end on a low, drained note. (I also got far more distracted by The X-Files than I expected to be. Oops.) But hey, at least I did complete NaNoWriMo!

Summary: Almost finished Amnesia: Memories. Just one world/romantic interest left to explore. I know I’ll be up stupid late, but wanted to get SOMETHING accomplished, so wrote a preliminary entry for Second Unit Reviews on otome games in general and Amnesia: Memories in particular.

SPECIAL:  Well, I got derailed by video games during the last week of NaNoWriMo, but still almost reached 37,000 words and the majority of that actually was on task with getting a rough draft of Pleasing the Sea out of the way. Still a ways to go, but I’m not displeased with the results.

SPECIAL:  Almost made it to Normal for the Monthly Total! Man, I didn’t realize just how close I was, or I would have tried to push a little more and make it to 30,000. Ah well, still not too bad and some impressive writing days. It seems that I really only wrote for about two weeks, as the month is almost evenly split between days spent working on Faylinn and the number of days listed as “Incomplete.” And I did get in about 5 hours of editing… Sheesh, that needs to be better. But hooray for staying on track!

Summary:  Hell yeah! Despite having 5,000 words to write in 48 hours, I managed to sneak in under the wire! Thankfully all of today’s writing focused on S&S: Samuel and Miko meeting the Vuorien and the Duenna, Amaris showing her temper, and a cute little exchange with Amaris, her maidservant, and her doctor. Snuck in a few pieces of lore about Mariner mythology and Vuorien names. (I love names. Names are so much fun.)

SPECIAL:  Sweet! Despite not feeling like working on Seahawks and Storms at all, I still managed to focus on it for about three-quarters of the month, or thereabouts. Still feel like the prose itself is mostly horrible, but like they say, you can’t edit a blank page… and I definitely don’t have blank pages anymore! (And holy crap, look at all those days on Legendary! Damn, girl!)

(Later in the evening I also finished writing my Cat’s Cradle entry for the week, but it’s so late that I’m not bothering to include it in the count.)

SPECIAL:  Well, even though much of the month was fanfiction and I spent at least half of the time sick, at least some writing got done and I am (more or less) on track with prepping for the conference.

Summary:  Holy crap, I did a lot today!  Battle scenes, commentary/reactions to a blog entry, and then writing Entry #133 for The Cat’s Cradle.  Awesomesauce!

SPECIAL:  Wow, I totally blew this month away.  So many Legendary days!  (OMG, I wrote on Legendary for almost 2 weeks.  That has NEVER happened!)  And I stayed pretty much on target with AFiLaW.  Even if you remove the occasional Cat’s Cradle entry material and plot notes, it’s still a bit over 50,000 words, so I have officially won NaNoWriMo 2015.  ^_^

EDIT 12/02/15: Oops, I made a mistake when I first posted this.  I thought I finished the month on Legendary, since I’d been thinking about the Legendary days.  I’d have to reach 60,000 in a month for that.  So sorry, I suck at addition!  And the NaNo website said I had 53,280 words, so there’s probably a few things that they counted as words that Google Docs didn’t.  Still, close enough.
